Clarins Tonic Body Treatment oil

I love most of Clarins products. The packaging is simple but the quality of the products is commendable. I was sent the Clarins Tonic Body treatment oil for a review. The oil needs to be applied to damp skin and rubbed in. A little goes a long way. It smells very herbaceous and like a herb garden or the spice rack. I like the smell. It is very invigorating and really adds to the “spa” like experience of this expensive French product. I have been using this product nightly for almost a month now, doing all of the goofy massages, etc. I’ll be honest to admit that I haven’t been using it daily but only twice a week because I’m too lazy to massage oils on my body. Besides, I’m not using it for stretch marks as I’m not pregnant yet. Which leaves me the option of using it for elasticity and firmness.

Suggested Usage:

-Shower and exfoliate with your preferred body exfoliant.
-Apply to damp skin with light sweeping motions moving upwards from the ankles and concentrating on areas of concern, such as the waist, hips, thighs, and buttocks.
-Rinse with cool water and towel dry or allow to air dry.

I use this at night after a body shower, since your pores are open and your body consumes it better when it needs to be hydrated again. I apply it at night before bedtime and the next morning I take a shower followed by Clarins Body Shaping Cream.

 My Verdict:

In my opinion, you can’t expect any body treatment oils or firming creams to work miracles, until you have a healthy lifestyle and you workout at least four days in a week. As far as I’m concerned, I have a sedentary lifestyle right now as I’m juggling between my blogging and social media events. I don’t get time to work out at all.
My purpose of using this oil is to relax my stressed out and aching muscles. Being a blogger, I’m either typing my reviews or doing photo shoots for hours or interacting with my followers on social media. That’s why my back and arms are always aching. But ever since I’ve started massaging my aching muscles with this oil, not only does it calm me down but it also has some muscle relaxing benefits. I also love this because it leaves my skin super soft and supple. I’ll either use it alone or mix it in with a body cream. If you have dry skin you absolutely must try this as nothing else leaves my skin feeling as silky smooth as this!
I’m not really sure about the ‘firming’ and ‘toning’ effects of the oil since I haven’t been using it regularly for that purpose but I have heard it’s amazing to use during pregnancy as it prevents stretch marks. Since all of the women in my family are prone to stretch marks, I know what I will be using religiously during pregnancy. So I will definitely be repurchasing this product, hopefully in near future.
