if you’ve been around the blog or beauty world for a little while you might have already heard of Influenster. If you haven’t, in short, it is an online community for social media and shopping lovers to share their opinions, connect and perhaps even try out new products in the form of ‘Vox Boxes’. Influenster recently made it to the Middle East, and I was lucky enough to be sent a Max Factor VoxBox.
The first Max Factor VoxBox had seven full-size products in it. I received in my VoxBox:
- 3-in-1 Face Finity foundation All Day Flawless.
- CC Color Correctors.
- Pan Sticks for highlight & Contour.
- Creme Puff Blush.
3-in-1 Face Finity foundation ALL DAY FLAWLESS
“Max Factor Facefininty All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation combines three make-up tools in one bottle: a primer, concealer and SPF foundation. The foundation primes the skin with a flexi-hold technology that creates a strong film that sits on the skin. Micro-correctors within the formula correct and maintain the look over time and the SPF20 formula delivers a matte finish thanks to the oil absorbency of particles that help minimise the level of non-volatiles on the skin surface. Oil-free, dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin, the 3-in-1 Foundation lasts for up to 12 hours.”- Max Factor Website.
It’s more of a heavy duty foundation so a little goes a long way. Although it is light in texture. Because it has a matte finish, it tends to make the skin look parched so I have to use a primer with this one. It has to be blended immediately on application otherwise it starts caking up and the finish isn’t flawless. I like to blend it with my fingers and I apply very less product. The shade that I had chosen online via influenster, is Sand 60 which goes perfectly with my complexion. I love the fact that it has SPF 20. The Facefinity All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation is great for girls with acidic skin. If you have acidic skin, it means that makeup—from foundation to lipstick—reacts by becoming lighter or darker after you apply it on your skin. There was no reactive change in color upon application, and even hours later.
CC Color Correctors
I received these in three colors. If you suffer from red spots, redness under the eyes or areas on the face GREEN is the color for you. Green pigments neutralize red. Apply the green stick on red areas, blend with your finger and apply your concealer on top! The YELLOW stick CORRECTS UNDER EYE CIRCLES. PINK stick corrects dark spots. I love these because these chunky crayon style pens don’t need to be sharpened as they are twist-ups. They are not too chalky and the results are good. You need to use a concealer on top of these. You can blend these by dabbing your fingers or by using a dampened beauty blender.
Pan Stiks for Highlight & Contour
This formula is a bit too oily for my skin. The product slides with time and creases. The shades that I received are True Beige and Cool Bronze for highlight and contouring respectively. But unfortunately, the True Beige is too dark for me to use as a highlighter and the cool bronze is just okay but both of them feel greasy on application and they’re too shiny and the formula slides.
Creme Puff Blush
I received this creme blush in the shade Lavish Mauve. I remember that the moment these creme puff blushes hit the market, they were dubbed as the Hourglass Ambient blushes dupes. The texture of this is kind of creamy when you swatch it with fingers, but it’s still a powder. I don’t find this terribly pigmented, though I have the lightest shade, but this isn’t a bad thing. The catch is that because this is sheer, you can apply a lot more and therefore you get more of that glowy effect, but it’s not like a bag of glitter was dropped on you because the shimmer in it is fine. I like the staying power of this one. A lot of blushes don’t last terribly long on me, but this definitely manages to cling on for at least seven hours.
It’s a light cool toned pink on my cheeks, which is completely unexpected from what it looks in the packaging. Swatched on the back of my hand, it’s a light pink-violet-mauve shade with subtle violet shimmer that gives it that cool toned reflection on my cheeks. Lavish Mauve is a bit shimmery and there is a bit of that sheen on the cheeks, but it’s definitely nothing special when it comes to the famous “glow”. This one looks more “natural” on the skin.
On the whole, I really liked the Max Factor Middle East VoxBox as it had seven full-size products and it was a pleasure testing out these good quality products and reviewing them for Influenster Middle East. It has been a great experience working with the Influenster team. The whole process is very smooth and the team keeps you updated at each stage.
