I was lucky to get a chance to collaborate with T’Ple Brushes, to try out and review their essential Makeup Brushes Set perfect for both, the beginners and those who know how to do makeup. It consists of five face brushes and three brushes for eyes. T’Ple is a UAE home-based brand established since January 2017. They basically sell Makeup Brushes, False Eyelashes and Cosmetics.

The brushes set comes in a chic leather pouch which makes it very travel-friendly. I love the color combination of the brushes set which is black and rose gold.

1. Powder brush

Features with a large and soft rounded brush, made by synthetic, suitable for even powder application

2. Foundation blending brush

Applying and blending foundation and base powder. The firm, synthetic fibers allow easy application in hard to reach areas around the nose and eyes. I use this to buff any type of foundation to flawlessly blend into a seamless finish. If you wash and care for your brushes, they will last a lifetime.

3. Contouring brush

Perfect choice for contouring and blending

4. Bronzer brush

Made by natural goat hair which is blissfully soft, for contouring and shading on pressed or loose powder blusher or bronzer

5. Concealer brush

Applying the concealer products around the eyes or other blemishes area, made by synthetic

6. Eyeshadow Blending brush

Providing the ultra-smooth transitions between eyeshadows. Perfect for blending. The bristles are soft enough to blend a wash of color but have the density to pack on pigment. The slightly tapered shape distributes shadow evenly, hugging perfectly along the crease. This brush is great for blending in the crease or socket of the eye.It helps to distribute product densely and evenly and is great for softening and blending in areas where you would require a smaller brush.

7. Crease brush

Made by natural goat hair, which is durable, hold on to pigment very well, together with the Blending Brush helps to blend out the eyeshadow beautifully

8. Wing eyeliner brush

Made by synthetic, small angled brush head, helps to apply the perfect wing eyeliner look.

How to choose quality makeup brushes?

So, how can you tell if you’re buying a winning makeup brush? There’s one simple test to find a durable and high-quality brush: Rub it against your skin. The bristles should feel soft, not rough or scratchy. To test the strength of the bristles, run the brush against your hand to see if any fibers fall out. If they do, don’t buy it. If the bristles stay intact and feel soft, it’s a keeper.

Basically, a brush can be divided into three parts: HairFerrule, and Handle. Hair can be either natural (goat/pony) hair or Synthetic (man-made from nylon fibers). Ferrule should be seamless. Metal types used include Aluminum (usually Aluminium Alloy as Aluminum by itself is impossibly soft), Copper and Brass (strongest). Whatever the metal type, ensure they are double crimped (2 circles around them) to avoid wobbly handles. Check that it is made from hard wood and that the length or overall weight feels good in your hand. The length of the handle is a matter of personal choice but usually, most prefer around 7” or thereabouts.

KEEP IT CLEAN

Makeup brushes are sensitive items. Oil from your face combined with makeup residue will hinder brush performance over time, not to mention harbor bacteria. Wash your brushes with a mild cleanser (such as baby shampoo) to keep them clean and oil-free. I will be putting up a separate post on how I wash my brushes.

My Verdict

Three out of eight brushes are made from Natural Goat Hair. Rest are made from synthetic fibers that won’t shed on your face mid-application. Not only is this rose-gold set, a thing of beauty, but there isn’t one dud brush in the whole kit. Each and every one of them is oh-so-useful. The real way to check the quality of a brush is after washing them. Thankfully my T’Ple Brushes retained their original shape and the bristles didn’t shed after washing. Hence I can confidently state that these brushes can give all the high-end brushes sets a run for their money.

The T’Ple Essential Makeup Brushes Set is priced at AED 125 and you can order them via WhatsApp or contact them on Instagram.
