When it comes to the art of face washing, we ladies take it pretty seriously. We carefully select our skincare products and practically give ourselves a facial twice a day. We do this ritual in the morning to look and feel refreshed and awake (even when we likely get less than six hours of sleep). And then we wash the day off of our faces in the evening, removing all traces of makeup, as well as any dirt and excess oil.
Today I am going to be reviewing the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed for normal to combination skin. I received this product for review so I used it for a month before giving my honest verdict.
Product Description:
“Refreshing cleansing mousse eliminates impurities, make-up and excess oil while respecting skin’s natural moisture balance. Almond cottonseed extract possesses emollient attributes, a skin conditioner. Soothing formula neutralizes the drying effects of hard water. Rinses easily with cool water.”
Ingredients:
Gypsophila extract: helps create a fine, lightweight cleansing foam. Cottonseed: softens. Bio-Ecolia: extracted from natural sugars, helps to preserve the skin’s natural moisture balance.
Packaging:
The cleanser comes in a tube with a screw on cap, I received the travel sized version, which comes in a 30 mLtube. You only need a pea-sized amount to clean your entire face so this one lasted me for almost a month. I wash my face twice a day so it’s good enough for traveling.
I have combination to oily skin, prone to pimples and I have highly sensitive skin that only likes some products or else all hell breaks loose.
Texture & Smell:
It is a white creamy mousse cleanser with a very gentle smell. I need just a pea-sized amount for my face. This has become my favorite cleanser. It has a very faint, clean fragrance that doesn’t linger and is quite pleasant. This one does not have any microbeads for gentle exfoliation to the skin.
Results:
Most cleansers leave my face feeling tight and flaky. This makes my skin squeaky clean without leaving my skin flaky. This leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean from the sweat and oils. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all and after switching to this, even my acne has started to become a thing of the past.
Pros:
* Very gentle
* Lathers very well
* You only need a pea sized amount
* Sturdy packaging
* Nice faint clean smelling scent that doesn’t linger
* No irritation
* Doesn’t dry my skin even further
* Squeaky clean!
Cons:
* The only con I have is that the packaging is opaque. I’d love it if it had a transparent strip somewhere so I’d see how much I have left so there wouldn’t be so much guesswork involved.
My Verdict:
I love this product, smooth and silky to use, foams well and leaves skin feeling refreshed but not dry. Overall this is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used and trust me, I’ve tried a LOT of them. Although it is an expensive product but given that it lasts so long and the superior quality, it really is a worthy place to put your money. I definitely recommend trying this out!
